The Sister Cities Association of Chelsea, Michigan, Chelsea-Shimizu Exchange Program accepts applications in the fall. If you would like to explore this opportunity, follow the instructions below. Contact us for application dates.

To apply:

  • Write a short essay on why you are interested in going to Japan
  • Supply two letters of recommendation
  • Completed application form
  • Submit essay, letters of recommendation and application to:

What's next:

  • An information meeting is held in mid-January - typical itinerary, preparation, and costs discussed
  • Interviews will be held with all interested candidates
  • Travel occurs during the last half of June
